background

Ever since watching his dad play drums along to Led Zeppelin's 'Moby Dick' when he was 12 years old, Cary knew he wanted to be a drummer. Cary was able to separate musical components in songs by ear, learn drum tracks, and memorize entire albums during the start of high school. Having a background with punk and metal bands, he grasped complex technical time signatures which helped influence his later years as a professional session drummer, being able to play all types of genres. He believes that the best drum arrangements happen when a drummer can identify the exact moment to enhance instruments, vocals, or other accompaniment, but also understands it’s always about the song and not just the drums. Cary currently resides in Los Angeles and is available for session work, live shows, and touring. Please email: cary@carylascala.com
